Do I need an open water certification to get a scuba tank filled, for paint ball?

  1. Not if you're using a valve that can't possibly be used to hook up to a proper scuba reg ( either DIN or Yolk). The second a dive shop sees a valve that can be used for scuba hook up, they'll ask to see a C card before filling even if you tell them it's only for paint ball. It's their butt on the line so the shop is going to be pretty strict about what they fill.


  2. It depends on the shop.  One of my local shops will fill a tank for paintball, but only if it's maked with "FOR PAINTBALL USE ONLY".

    The tank still has to have a current hydro and visual inspection to be filled.

    The other shop will only fill with a c-card.
