Do I need any fire courses for a fire academy?

Im moving in June to go to a fire academy. Im taking EMT basics right now. But I havent taken fire technology or any other courses. I went to my fire academy's wedsite and it didnt say anything about it except some CPR courses I need(which i already have).

so my question is...do i need fire tech courses or am i good?

Depending on the school, you may have prerequisites that you need to take prior to entering the fire academy. When I took the fire academy, you either had to have a chiefs letter of recommendation or take a intro to fire science class in order to be accepted. The best thing to do is talk to someone that actually works at the academy and find out through them.

well you have to go all through your firefighter 1,2,3. in order to be a full member of a firehouse.
