Do I need both makeup primer and moisturizer?

I have oily skin and I was wondering if I could just wear one instead of both?

Or would both make my makeup stay longer?

and if I used just one which one would it be, the primer or the moisturizer?

You should always moisturize.

But I HIGHLY recommend a  because primer will make your skin softer and the makeup will last longer. Primers also soak up excess oil in your skin.

Moisturize unless you want oilier skin than you already have.

Yes, you need to use both if you want to minimize the oiliness on your skin. Moisturizer helps hydrate your skin - if you don't use it, your skin will produce MORE oil to try to nourish itself. Then, you need primer because it also helps absorb excess oil, and it acts as a barrier between your skin and the makeup - it stops the makeup from seeping into your pores and clogging them. If you're looking for more oil control, I recommend using an oil control moisturizer. I use Prescriptive's, and it also has SPF 15. You should use an oil control primer as well - I use Smashbox's Photo Finish Light.
