  1. If you are in the UK you don't need your pin number. They should email you a code that you type in, you will need this. Simply put your credit card in then follow the instructions.

  2. Look on www.amtrak.com for ticket info.

  3. You have booked your tickets over the internet/phone I presume.

You only need the card used for payment and no you dont need a pin number, you will need your reference number, you used to be able to stick a nectar card in the machine and it would work and still ask you for the reference number.

Once you stick your payment card into the machine it will contact the national ticket database and check your card against its list.

If you only have one set of tickets booked on the card, it normally spews out the tickets without requesting the reference number, some machines do ask you for the reference number as well for security.

Once it spews out the tickets always check the details are correct, somtimes the telephone sales people put the wrong dates on them.

*Always arrive around 2 hours prior to your train departure, this is case there are some problems with your tickets, the day before is advised as well.*

  4. I used a fast ticket machine for the first time this week. I just stuck my debit card in the machine and it spewed out enough card sized tickets to play a hand of poker with, many just marked 'void' (although I did have travel tickets and seat reservation tickets as well). It didn't ask for a pin number or for the complicated code that I was told to write down and not lose, after my money was taken and which was also emailed to me.

  5. i never needed it, I just had to stick the card in the machine - I last used the service in March at Euston, I have also used the service at Stoke on Trent & didnt need to enter the PIN.

  6. You don't need the PIN for the card in question to collect your tickets, but you MAY need the Fast Ticket Collection reference (also known as a Tribute reference), which is an 8 character string to identify your booking.

I say MAY, as if you're using the card you paid for the ticket(s) with and it's your only "live" booking, you usually just have to insert the card and it won't ask for the reference.

In my experience, the main cause of collection failure is that people haven't allowed enough time between booking and trying to collect their ticket, despite the site/email saying, "Please allow at LEAST 2 hours before collecting your ticket"!

  7. Afraid so, otherwise its joining the queue!

  8. Yeah, you will need the details of your credit/debit card when you go to collect your tickets.
