  1. In your case - you have two SEPARATE types of exposure.

One - you have a "general" liability for your premises and operations.  That normally covers the "slip and falls", normally has some premises medical payments, advertising/personal injury coverages.  You can normally find this type included on your building and/or contents coverage - in the form of a BOP (or Business Owner Policy.)

Second - you have a "professional" liability. You "rub someone the wrong way" (pun intended) and get sued - you need coverage for that. You might check with your professional associations for your professional liability coverage. It should normally be less expensive thru them as it takes into consideration that exposure of ALL the massage therapists and not just you.

Just look around in your local area for an independent agent. You can look in your local phone book or on-line directory for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you should be able to find a professional agent there that can help you with your insurance requirements.

Good luck with your endeavors and I hope this helps!

  2. I would.  Someone could trip over your table, be allergic to the oils, fall off the table, or just claim you hurt them.  You need to protect yourself.  One should always be cautious when working with the public.

  3. Public Liability Insurance is there to protect you and your clients.

If you mess up and they sue you, do you have the funds to pay out a large claim?

Get the Insurance and remove the anxiety.

  4. I would cuz you never know some idiot could come in there and say you hurt there neck while you were messaging them. Or for if some reason some guy comes in there and has a heart attack on your table and dies . ya know

  5. Yes. No bank will give you loans or no building will rent office space without one.
