  1. BIology - Dependent on what area you go into. A good all round knowledge of the anatomy, infections and wounds.

Chemistry - This is more for Pharmacists or people working in the pharmaceutical industry as it deals with chemical processes in the body.

I'd say Biology is much more important for nursing.

  2. Biology is a must in any medically related career profession, chemistry not so much.

Your not becoming a pharmacist or chemist, so don't stress on that one.

Though, remember that you will be required to do DRUG Calculations as a nurse, so Maths and Chemistry are not bad ideas, if you want a much easier time during your college studies.

  3. Correct that chemistry isn't necessary for nursing, but a lot of colleges will look to see if you took it in high school and if so, they won't make you take it again in college, which is good because college chem is a lot harder. Or instead of taking 2 chem classes, they will only make you take one. It's a good idea to take it even though you won't use it, because almost all nursing curriculums require one chem class.

  4. biology

  5. Biology. Chemistry doent have to do with nursing.

  6. There is more biology in nursing, but in Australia, all nursing degrees require chemistry as well.  At this level, students really struggle with the chem if they have not studied it before.   My advise: Do both.

  7. You should take both, as both will be required for nursing.  The chemistry is kind of silly, since as an ordinary nurse you will rarely if ever use it, but they do it in case you decide to go further with your nursing education and go into research or teaching.

  8. Biology, but also Latin, English and Math.
