  1. No, it's your body. Mind you, your relationship may suffer if you're being deceitful..

  2. My husband had a vasectomy in 2006.  I had to sign a waiver in order for him to get the vasectomy.  I think it just depends on the doctor.  The doctor we used didn't not want to cause any strifes between a married couple.  I thought it was admirable of him to explain the repercussions a vasectomy could have on a marriage.  I don't believe it is a matter of whose body is whose, it's about the future children you Both may have or not.  I am also delighted to add that my husband had a reversal about a month ago!  We regretted the vasectomy and hated it that we took control of the possible children that God would bless us with into our own hands.  God Bless you!

  3. No....nor does she need your permission to contact a divorce lawyer!

  4. At the risk of sounding crude, she married you, not your testicles.  It's your body, and you can do whatever you want.  I would suggest discussing it with your wife first to avoid problems,  but it's your decision in the end.

  5. No, you do not need any type of written or legal "permission" to have a vasectomy in the state of Georgia.

I think it would be nice if you were to inform her of what is going on, but other than that.... No.

  6. No, but you should probably tell her.

  7. You don't need anyone's permission to get a vasectomy...but be sure its what you both want.

  8. Permission?  You are making a joke right?

If the doctor requires the permission of your wife, he needs to be fired (that is so illegal).

  9. nope

  10. One day I will learn where that urban legend came from.  Could you post who told that, or where you read it?  I have seen this same question come up on YA a lot of times.

You have never legally needed permission, as far as I know, anyplace on earth, every since vasectomies where invented over 100 years ago.

You only have to be 18.  You need no permission.  You don't even have to have children.

US Federal HIPPA regulations came out in the 1980's.  These laws forbid requiring spousal permission.  So if the doctor requires permission he or she can loose his or her license to practice medicine.
