Do I need the included software for the JVC GZ-MG130?

I am wanting to buy this camcorder, but the place I'm buying it from doesn't include the software CD. Is this plug and play on windows XP? I have the codec's and everything needed to play MPEG 2 files, I just need to know if I need to install drivers from the CD.

  1. The videocamcorder records video in a hard drive and/or SD card. You can transfer this through a USB hook up. XP would recognize your camcorder as an external storage device. So I guess you do not need that software.
