  1. HI there.    After reading the Amazon page for the adapter,   it said  the lens would be "BETTER" with the adapter.  It did not say the lens would have to be used with the adapter.  It was pretty confusing but by their wording I take it to mean it is optional.   No need to be wondering however.    You can call B&H Photo (I am sure they have a 1-800 number) with the model number of the camera and the part numbers of the lens and adapter and you will know for sure.   Definately don't buy anything not needed.
