Do I need the special cable to connect to X-box Live?

Okay, I told my friend that I was going to get a 360 and that I was probably going to get the arcade, since I didn't need much memory band it was cheaper. However, he told me that I would need a special connector that doesn't come with the arcade to connect to the internet, despite the fact that I have a wireless router that works fine with everything else. Can anyone either confirm or deny this. Also, if I do need the cable, can anyone give a a ballpark radius of what it's likely to cost so I can see if it's worth it? Thanks in advance.

no not really go to a best buy for an xbox live cable and itl probably cost $25.99 to $32.89

You need an ethernet cable. You probably need to have your modem right near your xbox to hook it up and the wireless adapter for 360 is 100$.

DO NOT GET THE ARCADE!!! My solution is that you take advantage of the excellent value that is the traditional Xbox 360 with the 60GB hard drive available for $350. This will remove the need for adding a larger hard drive in the immediate future, plus it will give you the option of choosing which Xbox Live Arcade games you want to download instead of getting stuck with the five that the 360 Arcade console comes with. Some retailers are even offering an Xbox 360 Pro Bundle for $350 that includes Marvel Alliance and Forza 2 in addition to the Xbox 360 premium--a deal tough to argue with.

For connecting an Xbox 360 to your home network without any wires. Purchase an Xbox 360 wireless adapter for about 99.99 CDN and this will connect you to XBox live utilizing your router.

Also if you do not want to spend the extra 60 dollars or so to get one of the better 360s, you can also find the 20 GB for 299.99 which is 20 dollars more than the arcade. The 20 and 60GB are better choices than the arcade. Believe me, you will not be disappointed with the 60 GB

yes, you need is an ethenet cable to connect to to your modem and the price shouldn't exceed $20.(Any kind of ethernet cable would work)

Although I suggest you should buy a pro bundle since the FALL UPDATE( it gives you a new dashboard, save the WHOLE game to the hard drive so it would run smoother since the disk won't be spinning, etc...) is a huge update and it requires a hard drive...

you should gain more if you get the pro bundle since it has a 60gig HD.

NOTE: you need a hard drive to download items on the marketplace

But if you have budget problems then you should get the arcade like you'vve already planned
