Do I need to ask for permission for setting up a lemonade stand?

My friends and I want to have a fund raiser. We are going to put up a lemonade stand in a local shopping street here in cyprus (if any of you have been here, it is ledra shopping street). Do we need to ask permission from someone, and if we do, who? Do we have to ask the shop that we will be outside, or the government? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I mean if you are just a bunch of kids you wont have too many legal issues - no one is looking to prosecute young kids who are having a fun time.  I would just ask the shop owners around your stand if they have a problem - i think they most likely wont and will actually encourage it becuase it attracts people closer to their businesses

if your on a public street...talk to the city and get a permit...

i think you would need a vending permission to sell on the street but if you did it on private property you would just need the permission of the owner. which would be easier.
