Do I need to attend a hearing for a parking ticket?

I want to dispute a parking ticket that I obtained. I went to www.nyc.gov/finance and it said I could dispute a ticket online. I'm still confused whether I actually have to go to court if I dispute online.

  1. You'll never win. Not for a parking ticket. It will be your word against the parking enforcement, and they will always side with their trained personnel. Pay the ticket.

  2. Yes, you need to go in person to dispute it.  And 99% of the time, you'll lose.  Then you have to pay a BIGGER fine.

  3. It depends on your state, county, city laws.

Yeah, just pay it. Trust me. It's not worth your time and effort. Besides, the city attorney and judges will belittle you and make you feel like c**p anyway. It's not worth it.

  4. I would agree. It will save you time and money to just pay the ticket. Unless the officer who wrote the ticket doesn't show up- you will probably lose.

  5. Just pay the ticket.
