I am purchasing a motorcycle later today used from a private seller. I'm 17 years old - do I need a parent to be there to sign it over to me? They won't be able to be there with me so I need to know. Thank you everyone!

  1. Check with Secretary of State.  You may be able to title it, but insurance may be a problem since you aren't old enough to legally sign a contract, and insurers require the person having the insurance to hold title or have an interest in the vehicle.

Call the Secretary of State office in your area, or check their website, and also check with your insurance company.

  2. yes
