Do I need to bring a resume to a job interview?

Tomorrow I have a job interview for a chinese restaurant, and it's my first job. The manager of the restaurant is my friend's mom whom I have known for a long time. My friend asked her if I could have a job at the restaurant, I was really desperate, and she agreed that I could work as a busser/hostess there. Do I need to bring my resume even though I am pretty sure I have the job? What ?'s do they ask on an application form?

  1. yES, even though your pretty much a shoe-in (sp?) I think you should take it.  Dress and act as you would in any interview. I think this would let them know tht even though the job is a favor/hook up, you will take your position seriously.  And when you start working behave just as all the other employees... otherwise if they know that you have favor with the boss they may start disliking you.

  2. It doesn't matter where the job is, ALWAYS bring your resume. And dress appropriate. No jeans, tennis shoes. Female-dress/skirt and nice top, pantyhose. Male-slacks, button up shirt and tie.

Questions on the application are basic. Name, address, SS#, education and employment history.

    Good luck!!

  3. Always go to an interview, regardless of who it is with, as a professional.  That means Yes you should take a resume if you have one.

  4. Showing up as if you already have the job would be a HUGE mistake. Not showing up prepares says to your potential employer that you are not really interested or serious about them. It says you don't take the interview seriously. Your friend will not be doing the interview or making the hiring decision. Take it seriously. Dress up and come prepared.

    Good luck!
