  1. They will provide everything.  Any and ALL personal stuff (underwear, socks, IPODS, etc)  will be taken from you.

Show up at basic with the BARE minimum.

You are wear the same style swimtrucks,, socks, underwear, etc.

  2. They will provide your swimsuit (a one peice very nondescript black swimsuit) Do not brin anything you don't need. Recommend talking to your recruiter about what you need to bring.

  3. It's all government issue, that's one of the good things about it, you don't need to buy any personal clothing.

  4. One set of clothing.

    Nothing else.

Oh, and do wear some underwear, I made that mistake once.  :)

  5. I don't remember!

I do remember I was happy to pass the test first time, the swimming and then the dead man's float, and then the mile which was held indoors and I thought I'd die from the heat, but it was August in Orlando so it was pretty hot outside too. And the obstacle course wasn't difficult at all - but then I was 18.

Bring a conservative, dark one-piece suit just in case. We may have swam it in our shorts. It was 1974.

Good luck!  Count all the stars, not just the ones you can actually see (This will make sense to you later).

**They didn't take away our underwear (we did have to write our serial number in our bras and panties) or socks, but perhaps things have changed since the "old days".
