Do I need to buy MAC 217 brushes??

Question

I'm just starting to use e/s and going to get myself a nice brush to apply it....

i heard lots of good, even awesome reviews on MAC 217 brush (blending brush) as it does lots of functions...... do i really need this?? i mean,, can I find another cheaper alternative??

i'm not really using e/s for my daily use... just for weekend or party occasions... so maybe investing on some expensive brushes might not be the best solution..... thanks...

The 217 is an excellent brush and can be used for many different kinds of application, although it's mostly used for blending. It may be a bit pricey but it will last you quite awhile if you take care of it properly. If you don't want to spend that much money on a brush you can always go to a craft store such as Michaels, Tall Mouse or Joanne's and buy dupes!

Paint brushes! No joke! I purchased some from Michaels and they work just as great as MAC brushes. Get the brand Loew-Cornell, which are pretty top of the line paint brushes.

you can get a brush of your choice... but if your wanting a brush thats going to last FOREVER .. i would go with MAC .. if not .. try sephora ... or if you dont want to spend that much ... theres several brushes you can get at arts stores or your local drug stores... you can try Michaels (( its an arts/crafts store... you can get paint brushes with soft fibres to do your eyes !!

217 is one of my all time favourite brushes!  I have been doing makeup for over 7 years and this is one of the brushes that I can't work without.  The brush has the perfect density and taper to apply and blend the shadow at the same time.  As far as when you are going to use it, weekends and parties are when you want to look your best, right?  Then you need the tools to achieve the look.  You can buy cheap brushes if you want, but remember, you get what you pay for.  If you take care of your MAC brushes they will last you forever.  :)  It's totally worth the investment.
