Do I need to clean my toddlers brand new toothbrush?

I just bought my toddler a new toothbrush took it out of the package and I just wonder if I need to clean it before she uses it for the first time.

    GENERALLY ITS A GOOD IDEA  TO BEGIN WITH AN UNCONTAMINATED BRUSH. POUR BOILING WATER OVER THE BRISTLES LET IT COOL AND GENTLY BRUSH.
