Do I need to do anything special for the first charge of my 8.4 v Ni-Mh airsoft battery on the first charge?

I just bought an Echo 1 MP5 which unfortunately did not come with any instructions on how long to charge the battery.

I worked out that the charge time should be 5 and a half hours from the formula battery capacity/charger output * 1.5 for NiMh batteries but I know that sometimes you need to charge batteries extra long the first time.

Could someone please tell me if I need to and if so for how long?

When using a stock charger you'll have to charge it atleast 6hrs to full charge...I used to charge my stock bat for 8hrs the night before the game..and have to discharge it after the game so to preserve the life of the battery....
