My pump is grounded, but do I need to run a grounding wire from my pool frame to the pump "just-in-case"?

  1. I dont know about A/G pools specifically but concrete pools are always (meant to be) connected to ground. This is done to stop corrosion of the steel reinforcing caused by the small amount of "electricity" that the pool pump creates in the water. Basically to stop galvanic corrosion between pump and pool. This wouldn't be a problem with A/G pools because the liner stops any contact between the steel walls and the water, unlike concrete/ render which is porous.

The chances of the pump motor power electrifying the pool is really remote (as long as you are using an approved pool pump)

  2. Not at all...You could create more of a harm then prevent one this way..
