  1. Regular water is fin you just use a chemical that keeps the calcium from hardening on you components once a month

  2. U can use your water right from your house.... But the first thing I would be sure of is .. does this used hot tub work.... does it leak?? have you seen it in action?? How old is it.. some older ones you can not get parts for any more.... It happened to me a couple years ago! Now I just have a fancy fish pond......

  3. Hello,  I am going to actually answer your question.

Your hot tub's water will actually need to be "hard" water.  This is achieved by adding Calcium Choride in either a pellet or flake form in small amounts.  For balanced water the level needs to be between 250ppm-400ppm (ppm = parts per million).  The other things you absolutely need to be concerned with is that the Alkalinity level needs to be 80ppm-120ppm.  (Do this by adding sodium Bicarbonate (Baking soda)),  The pH needs to be between 7.2 and 7.8.  It's best if you stay on the lower side. 7.4 is ideal.  Those are the three things your water needs to be at for whatever sanitizer your going to use.  I would recommend Bromine tablets as your full time Sanitizer since it is stable at hotter temps then chlorine.  Use a non-chlorine shock (potassium monopersulfate) as your weekly shock.

Be sure the heater works and there are little to no leaks.  Buying used can be very smart, but as the other said, some parts are no longer out there so be careful with what you buy.  Feel free to email anytime with questions.

  4. You can fill it with water from your house...it doesn't need to be soft water. Once you do that, then go to your local pool place and get some chemicals to treat the water...they will tell you what you need.

  5. fill your hot tub with water from tap but if you intend on using clorine as your sanitizer i would dissolve clorine into  water. to do this get a bucket fill with water then add shock POUR SHOCK INTO WATER NEVER WATER INTO SHOCK as this may cause a fire pool company owner eleven experince
