Do I need to get Medicine if I am leaving the United States to go to Colombia for a week?

I know that people who travel to foreign countries usually get medicine, I am wondering if i need to do the same?

  1. Yes, you definitely do.  You may even need to get shots.  

    First, you should have routine shots which everyone should have even if they're not traveling.  They are:

    -measles/mumps/rubella (that's one shot)

    -tetanus

    For specific travel to Colombia, you need:

    -Yellow Fever

    -Hepatitis A

    -Hepatitis B

    -Typhoid

    -Malaria (this comes in a pill form and you take it everyday that you're traveling)

  2. The above answer is 100% fiction. You do not need to get any shots nor show any evidence of shots when you get to Colombia. Obviously that person has never been there. However, if you plan to go, for example, to Panama after you go to Colombia you will have to get a Yellow Fever shot.
