Do I need to get an adaptor to go to Cork, Ireland?

Im off to Ireland 2mora and I need to know if I need a adaptor plug and if so what one!!!

the UK adaptor is the one you need as we have the same power supply and plugs as they do in the UK i hope you enjoy your trip here in cork city

Depends where you are coming from, if it is the USA then you will , although you can also buy them here.

That depends. Where are you coming from? If you're coming from the UK, I don't think you need one.

Plugs and sockets in Britain and Ireland are same.

all plugs are the same all over ireland and britain - if you are from somewhere else you will need an adapter :)

If coming from UK no as sockets the same - you might want a translator though as Cork accent is something to behold!!!

If you're coming from the States, you will need an adaptor AND a power converter.  The states operates on 110 volts, and most of Europe operates on 220 which means:  If you plug your hairdryer into a socket that puts out 220 volts and it only needs 110 volts, it will FRY the motor immediately.  This involves a loud pop, lots of smoke, and a broken hairdryer.  You need a "step down converter", which, as the name suggests, steps down the power from 220 to 110.

For some reason, iPods, computers, and other electroncs (that don't have motors) are immune to this fiasco.  They can take 110V or 220V.
