---****I LIVE IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN****----------

I am taking Classroom/Behind the wheel this school year. What is the deal with the learner's permit? Is that for when you are 15 or w/e? Can I just get my license when I turn 16 if I have taken the classroom driver's ed (not behind the wheel?) And, once I have finished Behind the wheel, do I STILL need to have my stupid permit, or can I get my liscense right away (I will be 16) Please fill me in.

  1. sorry. you have to do it by the numbers, permit first

  2. lol i dont think so

  3. yes sorry to say but you will still need your permit and it might be a good idea to follow the laws for your state in regards to that permit (trust me i know)

  4. no - you still need the learner's permit even if you're 30 - sorry - I live in WI, also!

  5. in kansas you get ypur learers permit at 14 and it rolls over to a permanent license when you turn 16 go to the drivers license bueru and ask them!

    GOOD LUCK!

  6. only if the drivers ed class waives the permit.if not you will have to get your permit.

  7. EVERY body need to get a permit.  The permit is like your final.  No matter what class you take, you still have to show you LEARNED something.

Permit is to show that you know the rules of the road, signs, safety requirements, etc.

The road test is to show that you know how to OPERATE the car.

    good Luck...

P.S.  New Hampshire is the ONLY state that does NOT require a permit for students.  But that is also changing (the law).

  8. in FL, you have to have your permit for one year reguardless of age, untill your 18. when your 18, you can just go ahed and get your license.

  9. Most places you have to get your Learners first. It's got nothing to do with your age, it's your driving experience that makes the difference.

It's called a learners permit because your new to driving and STILL LEARNING!!!

Everyone thinks they're a much better dirver than they are. Don't be in such a rush. Driving is a skill and it takes time to learn it properly so that you don't kill yourself or anyone else.

Most car accidents (especially the ones where people are killed) are not "accidents", they're caused by people who don't drive properly.
