Do I need to have a Blackberry plan to download Google Maps onto my Blackberry 8310 Curve?

I have a regular telephone usage and texting plan with AT&T and wonder if u have to have a Blackberry plan (aka data plan, gps, etc.) to download and use Google Maps.
