I already have insurance but no license and I'm working on getting my license but the title is still in the previous owner's name.

  1. You do not need a driver's license, nor insurance, to get the title in your name.  The title simply shows ownership.  To register the vehicle (license plates) you need insurance coverage.  To get the insurance coverage, you need to tell the insurance company who the primary drivers will be.  To drive the vehicle, you will need a driver's license.  All separate things.

And, I don't understand how you have insurance on this vehicle if it's not yours (title), and you have no driver's license.  The insurance must be in someone else's name.

  2. dont need a license to get title in your name just money.. you will have to have them to get tags or drive it... they sign it under sellers name you sign it under buyers name you go to dmv and give them  money and your done kind of

  3. No, you do NOT need a license to title or tag a vehicle.  You only need a license to DRIVE a vehicle.  You'll need to provide proof of identity and your residence but not a license.

It's a common misconception that you must be licensed to title or tag a vehicle.  It's so common that many insurance agents will tell you that you do and even some DMV trolls think that you need one.

My uncle was a quad for many years and couldn't drive and didn't have a license but had multiple vehicles titled and registered in his name in several states.

  4. No you don't. But you need a insurance if you are going to drive that car.
