Do I need to keep alcohol in the refrigerator?

Question

I have some tequila, does it need to be refrigerated? If not, does it taste better refrigerated anyways? I just want a premium drinking experience.

doesnt need to be. i usually keep hard alcohol in the freezer so its cold when i want to make a drink. beer should be refrigerated if its bought cold

You don't need to refrigerate it -- it won't spoil.

But for a smoother taste, the freezer is a good place for it.  It won't freeze, too much alcohol.

A lot of people order tequila chilled. It makes it taste much smoother. However, it is not stored in the fridge. So in your case I would put it in the freezer so it will be chilled when you decide to drink it. In case you are not aware, it will not freeze. Also, instead of lime and salt as a chaser try bloody mary mix or seasoned tomato juice. Seriously, try it.

definitely dosent require refridgeration but iy is nice to pou cold liquor over ice instead of room temp liquor because the warm lquor melts the ice....  i keep my favorites in the freezer actually.

No.  Straight liquor rarely needs refrigeration.

As far as it tasting better, it depends on who you ask.  The classic way is room temperature, so the flavors and aromas will be more lively.  But the alcohol will be lively as well, so it will "burn" more.  If you refrigerate it, the alcohol will be more subdued, and it will go down smoother, but you also lose a little bit of flavor, in the process.  

A lot of young people actually put it in the freezer, because it won't freeze, it will just get really cold.  If you're always wondering how to get the burning sensation out of alcohol, then put it in the freezer.  If you've got some ultra-premium tequila, and you want to sit around and experience the taste of it (like a wine-tasting) then keep it room temp.
