  1. No.

I know a lot of people that got their backtuck before their back handspring.

  2. Not necessarily, however it is better to do so. When i used to tumble, i did a round-off into a back tuck before i learned a back handspring. But learning the back handspring definitely loosens your fears of flipping backwards. I dont know what you're trying to learn a back tuck for, but a back handspring is very useful to learn if you're in cheerleading or tumbling.

  3. yes and no yes because if u have your backhandspring your used to going backwardsand it will look good no becauseit will look sloppy and u will be scared

  4. NO.

I have a friend who doesn't have any tumbling but a back tuck.

and her back tuck is one of the best ones.

  5. No you don't but it is easier if you learned a back hand spring first because it teaches you the basics to go backwards.

  6. It is best to learn a backhandspring first because most the time in tumbling you will do a roundoff, backhandspring, back tuck tumbling pass.  Having a backhandspring will give you lots of power and momentum into your backtuck.  A backhandspring is also a much more basic skill and give you a sense of a backward flipping motion and a little air awareness. Good luck!

  7. well you dont HAVE to but i would say that it will definetely help. a back handspring is easier to learn anyways. i say get the handspring down then work on the back tuck motion
