Question:

Do I need to pay my parking ticket?

I got a parking ticket over the weekend. They used a zero instead of an O within the word on my plate.

Example:

W0RD instead of WORD

If I search the online database for my plate, nothing comes up. If i type it in the way they did, it does...

Am I off the hook?

  1. usually it wont matter until you get 3 tickets then they can boot you so no not really tell them to suck an egg

  2. Just pay the fine & don't illegally park, etc.

  3. While they *did* catch you fair and square, that specific mistake  CAN get you out of the ticket IF they did not specific your VIN and make / model / color of your vehicle.  If they did get your VIN and make / color of vehicle then they WILL realize their mistake and still find you. If they got the color wrong, you take a picture of your car with the plate, and include it with the ticket, and explain they clearly got the wrong car, as it's the wrong color and plate don't match.

    Else... pay it.

  4. pay the ticket it does not matter

  5. You are in the database the way they typed it in.  You may think it's an O, but it may really be a zero.  I'd say they got you fair and square.  You're in the "system".   I don't see you getting out of this one.

Like you say, if you type it in the way they did, it comes up.

When the cop enters the plate into his laptop, it comes up with the kind of car it should be attached to.  If they car and plate don't match, check the impound lot for your car.

  6. Nope........ and if you dont pay it they will get you the next time that you need to renew for your license....
