Do I need to prep the rifle before I spray it?

Now that you have answered my first question, is there anything I need to do to the gun before I spray it? For instance, do I need to wipe all the oil off the barrel or what?

You need to wipe it down with acetone, white gas or mineral spirits

There can not be a trace of dirt or oil anywhere on any part you want paint to stick to

Hitting it good with 000 steel wool would not be a bad idea

The paint job will be no better than the prep job
