I plan on buying a brand new GSXR 750 for track use only at the dealership, would I need to register with the dmv? I dont want to pay registration and title for a bike that will never see the public streets. Thought I'd ask here before I ask the dealer...this bike will race in California by the way.

  1. No you don't have to register it. You will save sales tax unless the dealer adds it to the price. But unless you register it you won't get a title in your name. Not a problem for a track bike, the bill of sale will be your proof of ownership.

  2. You will not need to registrar the bike with the DMV but you will have to title it and fill out a registration waiver, this will have you state that you will not be running the bike on the road for the next 6 months.

  3. I dont know US laws. Sorry. It the UK its just one form to film in, or a few clicks online.

Ive heard from others on here them DMV are a bunch of ball breakers.
