Do I need to remove the ferns growing around the trunk of the plants?

Will they be competing water and nutrients with the plants? (The plants I referring to range from 2 to 6 feet tall.)

  1. no its a nice look and in the wild ferns grow on trees and actually help keep the roots cool in the summer and warm in the winter. if you have to water your tree make sure you water enough for the two of them
