Do I need to take my deceased wife's name off of our car title?

This depends on your local motor vehicle laws and how it is phrased on the title. In the state I live in, if the title has the phrase John AND Jane Doe then in order for the car to be sold both people need to sign, however if the title is phrased John OR Jane Doe then only one person needs to sign the title in order to sell it. now I understand your not currently selling the car, but I only mention this because your asking and removing her name. so talk with your local DMV about this and also look at the phrasing on the title. It can make a difference. Also if you need to remove her name, you will need to provide the proper documentation, Death certificate and what not.
