Do I need to take the ASVAB if I plan to go to a military academy or ROTC?

  1. No. The ASVAB is only required for enlisting into the Armed Forces. ROTC is an officer-commission path, so the ASVAB is not required.


  2. I never took the ASVAB and was commissioned a 2LT through ROTC.

  3. no but you will have to take the AFOQT (aIR fORCE OFFICER QUALIFYING TEST). its tests basic algebra concepts, word knowledge, aviation knowledge and so on. its not too terrible of a test but it lags on forever.
