I have an Alpine CDA 9883 with the sub pre-out and one box with two tens. I would not like to buy an amp if I don't need to. What is the best way for me to hook these up?

  1. you will need an amo so that your sub will actually produce bass...otherwise what's the point

  2. you will wanna get an amp or it will sound like c**p

  3. An amplifier in necessary to power your subs. Radios only have about 22 watts per channel and are designed only to run standard speakers inside of the car. About 8 years ago Pioneer had a radio that stated that you could hook up a sub to the rear speaker wires off of the radio and power a sub with the 70 watts it produced. That was a poor design and the woofer never sounded worth anything. So an amp is necessary. Hope this helps

  4. Yeah , you need an amp!
