Do I need transponder key when new keyless entry/remote starter is installed in Honda Accord 97?

I have a Honda Accord 97 Special Edition. My factory keyless entry is not working anymore; I want to replace it with Python 1400XP Remote Start/Keyless Entry System sold in Circuit City, so that I can remote start as well in winter. I’m wondering whether I need to purchase transponder key or bypasses for my car.

Thank your in advance.

  1. Most after market remote starts that I have seen use a spare transponder key that is put in line with the system under the dash. Most people use their valet key if they still have them. Depending on the system and the car, you should be able to start the car using a key without a transponder but I'm not positive.  I would check with CC's installation deptartment first though.
