Do I need visa if I already have a UK visa to enter the Republic of Ireland?

I already have a UK visa, am a citizen of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and I wanted to ask if there is the need to get an Irish visa to enter Ireland if I already have a UK visa?

Any help will be greatly aprecated

  1. In your case, yes. If you wish to visit any country outside of the UK, be sure to check. Some EU countries accept visas for any member nation, some do not. I don't think Ireland joined the EU.


  2. Yes you do need. Since UK is not a Schengen country as the Republic of Ireland is you do have to apply for a Schengen visa at the Irish embassy in London

  3. the irish depertment of forgien affiras does not say that holders of uk visas are allowed to enter visa-free.

    so you better contact the irish embassy at your country and ask them.
