  1. Normally yes but it depends on the charger which is supplied or installed in your vehicle!

If it is a high amp charger above say 13amps then a seperate socket high amps may be needed.

  2. The hybrid electric cars you see on the road do not get plugged in at all.  Unless you're one of the few people who have payed to have your hybrid to be converted or are part of the small group of people who are testing the new plug-ins, you don't recharge the batteries through an outlet at all.

The battery in a hybrid electric car is recharged through: 1) regenerative braking or 2) the gas engine.  That's why hybrids do better in city driving.   In stop-and-go traffic, the battery can be recharged through the brakes, rather than by the gas engine.

Car makers are working on cars that you can plug-in, they just aren't here yet.  When they do arrive, you will be able to plug them into your sockets just like other electronic items (albeit in the garage).

  3. I think the car comes with a special electric charger like a golfcart does.

  4. i think i dont know but that whould be funny... you break down on the road home and have to ask someone to plug your car in and they shut the door in your face!!
