Eveyone keeps telling me because I have MS I may be able to get Disablity. A little bit about me. I am 24, I was diagnosed with MS about a year ago. I am taking Beta Interferons for the disease, and have serious lack of focus and fatigue. When I have flare ups, usually an extemity goes numb for a week or two. (Last time it was my leg, and I fell down the stairs.) So, I don't work....mostly because I can't focus, and don't have the energy for it. Plus, I have an autistic son who's three and I stay home with him. My husband is military, we are a family of four. Do you think I qualify?

  3. Absolutely! Try to apply by yourself but you will probably be turned down.

Then hire a Lawyer who specializes in SSD and go for it. The Lawyers payoff is relatively small (you pay nothing out of pocket) but it could take up to 18 months until you are approved. In the meantime you may get SSI and anything medical, dental or prescription is free. You may only have SSI (Medicaid) for 6 months before your SSD (Medicare) so use it quickly and to your advantage.

  4. well if you say you take care of your son, their going to say you can work.

they basically look at your medical record. u will usually have to see one of their doctors as well.

u can be eligibal... just be prepared for a long proccess... you might be denied the first time, you will just have to file again.

A good indication is how your doctor feels about your illness.

  5. I have MS, dizzy a lot, head hurts a lot, almost constant ear pain, and yes, I have gotten a disability, but, they turned me down twice, I had to get a lawyer, be aware, once you get a disability even if you ever wanted to basically you cannot work or you will lose your disability and it is not enough to live on.
