If I just go the court hearing what should I expect? I was at .09 which is on the cusp. My biggest fear is jail time.

  1. see where the court is.  go to the court a week early and watch/observe the goings on.  they will probably have a few dwi cases.

watch what happens between cases with lawyers and not.

you should be able to make a decesion.

  2. Is this charge in city or county? The thing is the county is a court of records-lawyer needed. If it is city it has a6 year statute-no lawyer needed. Expect a reduced charge after ayear of being good. Most likely recless driving

  3. You only need a lawyer if you're fighting the charge. Pay your fine, take your points and don't do it again. If you do, THEN you'll need a lawyer.

  4. Greedo3532, Seek advice from a professional, they should know the ins and out of Iowa law by heart. http://www.findaduilawyeronline.com

  5. Get a lawyer. You will regret it if you don't.

  6. you will have points on your license and you insurance is going to go up better to pay a lawyer one time than pay the insurance company more money  year after year
