Do I really need all these additional Java thingies?

In Add and Remove programs, I see some Java Update things.

"Java (TM) 6 Update 2"

"Java (TM) 6 Update 3"

"Java (TM) 6 Update 5"

Up to 7, they each consume more than a hundred megabytes of memory, can I delete the old ones and only keep them most recent one?

Yes, delete the old ones up to the latest version.

There is no use to keep old ones.. I don't see why Java doesn't ask to uninstall the old version upon installation.
