Do I really need to buy snowboard boots?

It looks like my regular Timberland waterproof boots are fine since it's the bindings that keep me in place with the board and support my ankles, right?

  1. if they are almost up to your knee their fine

  2. I have never seen anyone try to snowboard in regular boots, But they do have those toy snowboards for kids that have cheap binding looking straps that u just step into.

  3. YES!

Regular footwear aren't designed to transfer energy from your feet to your board.  They're not waterproof and they're not insulated.  You'll hurt yourself wearing them.

  4. YOU NEED SNOWBOARD BOOTS!!!

Trust me I instruct snowboarding, you will get hurt rockin tims on the slopes  You can rent snowboard boots if you dont have the dough

OR get some boots from the specials section of theclickworldwide.com you can find sick boots for under 100 bucks, in fact the burton boxer boots look like tims, check em out, you will be impressed

  5. Yes, you need real snowboard boots. Regular boots do not have enough support and are not thick enough to tighten up correctly in snowboard bindings.

The biggest difference is the top of the boot and the support across the TOP of the foot - when you are riding on your toe edge you put pressure on the top of the boot using your shin and by leaning forward this transfers pressure to the top strap and to your toe edge. A regular boot is not stiff enough in this direction and will just fold forward.

    Good Luckk
