No ID. Can I Or should I sign my name on the bottom line(so to speak) when he's not with me. That way the store will have an ID to whom is useing the account?

  1. As far as the store is concerned this could be attempted check fraud.  Most stores will only accept checks that have the account holder's name and address printed on the check for this very reason.  If the imprint says "John" and you sign "Mary" they are going to look at you real funny and shoo you out of the store.

    Have him give you cash.

  2. I dont think you can use a check at a store that is not yours, especially with no ID.
