I've been living in a different county for more than a year now and was asked to serve on a jury from my old residence. Should this be something to worry about?

  1. It's nothing to worry about. In most cases you are excused if you are no longer a resident of the county. You have to appear and they will give you an opportunity to be excused early on. Call the phone number on the notice if there is one and ask them. Why are you asking a bunch of strangers?

  2. no and there is no punishment if you throw it away

  3. Did you bother to change residency and notify the registrar to chang your polling place?    If not your legal place of residence is where you were not where you are now.    Please did you at least change the addess on your drivers license.  If not you  are still obligated.  If you have done this, that district should have no claim on you.
