I financed my van through the actual used car dealership and made post dated cheques payable to the dealership. The cheques have remained uncashed now for 3 months and the used car lot is empty and out of buisness. The is no information at the dealership as to who to contact.

  1. go to the bank and stop payment on the checks. sooner or later you will be contacted about payment for the car.

  2. Woo Hoo Fo You!!!!!

  3. i would contact the CAB citizens advice bureo about this!

  4. You still have to pay your obligations.  If the checks never get cashed, enjoy.  Call your Dept of Motor Vehicles to find out what you need to do to eventually get clear title to the car.  I would not stop payment on the checks but make sure there is enough in the bank to cover them as long as they are not stale.  That way you can show that you kept your side of the contract.
