Do Indians worship cows and are they allowed to eat beef?

Yes Hinduism does not permit eating beef and they do worship cows. While Buddhism believes that they should not eat meat because animals have souls and because of reincarnation that some of their relatives and friends might have been created  animals as a punishment for their wrong doings in their previous lives.

Am not being a fanatic, but the HINDU Religion, BTW, HINDUISM is not a religion but a WAY OF LIFE, believes that cows are sacred, they dont really worship the cow like a deity. At festivals we decorate and honor her, but we do not worship her in the sense that we worship the Deity. To the Hindu, the cow symbolizes all other creatures. The cow is a symbol of the Earth, the nourisher, the ever-giving, undemanding provider. The cow represents life and the sustenance of life. The cow is so generous, taking nothing but water, grass and grain. It gives and gives and gives of its milk, as does the liberated soul give of his spiritual knowledge. The cow is so vital to life, the virtual sustainer of life, for many humans. The cow is a symbol of grace and abundance. Veneration of the cow instills in Hindus the virtues of gentleness, receptivity and connectedness with nature.

no all indians are not hindus .  hindus only worship the cow and that also their are two sects in hindus vaishnav and shaivam . vaishnav are mostly in north india and shaivam (sankaracharya sect) are in south india. vaishnav do worship cow  and in south india also some sect of sankarcharya also worship cow. as there is mere 0.005% people of hindus may be eating beef and that also in some part of country like west bengal .
