  1. It would be qualifying experience for a police job, but some police departments may consider it a drawback while others would view it as desirable.

  2. It depends on the location.  Some places truly do like it, while others don't.  Just find a place that appreciates it.

  3. I would think that anyone who's been in the military already has a good degree of experience with firearms and would be considered favorably.  Many law enforcement agencies (depending on the city) require a college degree as well.  The city I live in now doesn't require a degree, but the city I moved from did.

  4. In my experience they usually work off of a point type system and every piece of information you provide them has a certain 'weight' of points and generally MP experience gives a positive point value.  However if you are a crack dealer that might bring your points down..kidding.

  5. YES, if you are referring to applying for a job with a LEA, being an MP in the Army gives you a bit of edge.  That is as you were a well trained MP and your NCOERs support your training and knowledge.

    Nothing come easy though!

  6. well i'm sure they so because mp is like law ya no

  7. I have never heard of any agency that didn't welcome military members to their force, and MP's are no different. All of the agencies I'm aware of love former military members.
