  1. Operational staff directly employed by London Underground (e.g. station staff and drivers) do not get any extra money or days off in lieu for working on bank holidays as these are part of our normal contracted hours. Different arrangements apply to staff employed by private firms.

  2. This depends on grade, position and company they work for, some companies will give the option of double pay or a day in lieu for working the shift alldependant on contract and requirements.

Like most rail workers, you do not have a choice of working or not, if your rostered day of work falls on a Bank Holiday, tough your working, unless you can persuade someone who is on rest day to do a swap.

The only Rail workers that are assured a day off are the office workers that work mon to fri 8 to 5 in different positions that are salaried.

  3. sure do & a day off in lieu!

  4. Yes a days pay at overtime rate, and a day off .
