  1. if you can find them in the first place you would be lucky...probably on holiday waiting for the next election then they appear out of the woodwork full of promises.....

  2. Don't be silly, when did a politician listen to anything but the sound of his own voice. The only exception to this rule is when there is an election in the offing.

  3. In one ear,Out of the other.

  4. qqqq

  5. Oswald W, =exactly the procedure= got it in one well done, mate.

  6. If you write to them, or visit them, with a coherent argument they may well listen. If you sound like you're ranting they won't.

Also if you're the only person making a comment they will assume you're a nutcase, if hundreds make a similar point they will sit up and listen.

Finally when writing to your MP, try not to make such basic grammatical errors as you have in your question i.e. confusing 'there' with 'their' and missing the apostrophe in 'constituents'.

  7. No I went to my M.P. Richard Caborn twice in Sheffield to ask for his help to a serious child problem he choose to do nothing even though I had a paper from the Education Authority he chose to ignore it. He was minister for sport and only interested in all the free corporate entertaining he got from sports fixtures. He was not interested in peoples problems at all. I tried to tell the local Sheffield Council they did not want to know either, you can go to an ombudsman it takes months and then they send a standard letter to everyone saying they cannot deal with this problem.

  8. Depends who your MP is I think.

  9. Depends on the MP. Most of them are pretty conscientious and hard-working but they only have limited powers of intervention, they don't really have much ability to influence government departments or councils.  If you present them with a reasoned and well-stated case they wll normally listen and do what they can for you, but if you seem to be a crank they will fob you off and do nothing.

    .

  10. No they dont, as long as they get there £60,000 a year they just ignore any questions.

  11. Of course they listen, and all they hear is 'blah blah blah blah blah'...

  12. They have a good laugh about it.

  13. Go on then im all ears

  14. The usual action is

    1 Make an Appointment

    2) He will give yo the Date The Time and The Place to come and see him.

    3) When you get there he will expect you to put your complaint in writing with all the relevant Detail

4 ) He will hear you out briefly ,tell you how sorry he is to hear of your Troubles . He will make a promise to "SEE WHAT I CAN DO " and then he will write you a letter to tell acknowledge your letter of complaint and tell you that he has passed it on to the Relevant Officials for their comments. That is the last you will hear about it most of the time, because the "Relevant Authority" being the ones who did nothing when you brought the complaint up in the first place.

  15. they never listen to anything unless the can earn from it..  fill thier own pockets
