  1. Macs aren't vulnerable to viruses yet, although that's not to say it won't be exploited in the future.

Symantec is a business and will try to make money out of consumer ignorance whenever it can.

  2. They can, however it is highly unlikely. Because most people use windows, most of the viruses are made for windows. There is a minimal chance of a mac getting a virus. But if you install windows on you mac, you should probably get virus protection software to protect it.

Norton have made virus protection for mac because windows can now be installed on them.

  3. No, they don't get viruses. I guess there are clean up software to clean up trash on your mac I think but the only one that I heard is called "Immunizator". It is a useless software because it identifies i think every file that it scans as "Trash".

    Hope I Helped!

  4. linux is probably the most virus resistant mainstream os out there, and it still gets viruses. it's just a marketing lie to get people to buy them

  5. You don't need Norton's Goddamned Virus protection. It's just a way of money making for those people. Mac in itself is like an anti-virus. No virus has been designed that can destroy or affect Mac operating system.

  6. Checkout the review by pctools security on whether macintosh computer can be infected with viruses and spyware.

  7. am pretty sure that there are also viruses for mac... but only a few...... so it is very unlikely for a mac user to encounter viruses and malware..

i do know a rogue program for mac... its called macsweeper
