Do Mac laptops normally not play good quality of online videos?

I've been trying to watch some online tv on the channels website but every time i do its always choppy and stalls like literally every 10 seconds...My roommate said her macbook did that to....is that normal for macbooks?

I watched a couple hours of olympic coverage on a Macbook and I didn't have any of those problems. It's possible your internet connection isn't fast enough for the site you are on.
